Canada Disability Benefit Rates Sheet
The Canada Disability Benefit (CDB) is a new monthly federal benefit for people with disabilities who earn under a certain income and who maintain other eligibility requirements (such as being eligible for the Disability Tax Credit.)
After many years of advocacy by people with disabilities, their loved ones, and disability advocates across the country, the CDB was rolled out in June 2025. Though there are still issues with how the Benefit is administered, the Benefit amount along with the income limits and working income thresholds are indexed to inflation, and therefore the amounts will likely change every year. These annual changes are important because they preserve access to the Benefit, but they also may create confusion about how much an applicant can receive from year to year.
The Income Security Advocacy Centre (ISAC) has designed a new CDB Rates Sheet to help community legal clinics, clients, and members of the public understand the changes in CDB amounts or limits that will occur annually. They plan to post an updated CDB Rates Sheet every year in July when the federal government releases the new rate information, and they will do this for as long as the information is relevant for our clinic colleagues, clients, and community members.
This CDB Rates Sheet is modelled after their OW/ODSP Rates Sheet which is released around the beginning of July every year. This Rates Sheet is different because it includes additional information about working income thresholds, which will change every year.
