Toronto Community Crisis Service

Call 211 to be Connected to TCCS

The Toronto Community Crisis Service (TCCS) provides free, confidential, in-person mental health supports city-wide from mobile crisis worker teams. TCCS supports Toronto residents 16 years of age or older and is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The service provides a non-police-led, community-based, client focused, and trauma-informed response to mental health crisis calls and wellness checks. A trauma informed approach promotes healing and recovery and takes into account a client’s life experiences.

TCCS also provides:

  • referrals and connections to other services
  • resources and information
  • post-crisis follow-up supports

Distress Centres of Greater Toronto

Distress Centres of Greater Toronto is a service agency dedicated to providing timely emotional support, crisis intervention, and suicide prevention to people in distress. We are a group of well-trained individuals who are no different from you, driven by a strong will to help those in need.

408-HELP is available 24/7 and 365 days a year, providing crisis intervention and emotional support to everyone in our communities.

Gerstein Crisis Centre – 24-Hour Crisis Line

Crisis Workers are available 24-hours a day, 7 days a week at (416) 929-5200.

Service providers may also make referrals to our services by calling our referral line at (416) 929-0149. This line may at times be answered by voicemail, your call will be returned by a member of the crisis team within the hour.

Community-based crisis services for adults age 16+ in Toronto who are dealing with mental health issues and/or substance use issues and are currently in crisis. Also offers online face-to-face support, wellness groups, short term follow-up support, and referrals to other services.

The Access Point

The Toronto Mental Health and Addictions Access Point, referred to as The Access Point, is a centralized point where you can apply for individual mental health and addictions support services and supportive housing.

The Access Point provides coordinated access to a number of services within the large network of service providers through one application and intake assessment process.

Alternatives is a community-based mental health agency located in the East End of Toronto. We provide one-to-one client counselling, case management and community supports to individuals who have significant mental health challenges.

Referral Process: We are part of the centralized intake process with The Access Point. Most mental health and addictions programs in the city now have The Access Point as the first step of the intake process. You can reach them at 1-888-640-1934 or www.theaccesspoint.ca to complete an application.

You can also contact our office and we would be happy to assist you with this process or answer any questions you might have.

Health Access Taylor-Massey (HATM)

Health Access Taylor-Massey (HATM) is a healthcare, community and social services centre located in Crescent Town. We offer connections to services and resources, including COVID-19 supports, to people who live in the Taylor-Massey neighbourhood and surrounding areas.

We offer a wide range of walk-in, by-appointment and by-referral health, community and social services. Different services are offered during different days and hours. Services and hours are subject to change.

Health Access Thorncliffe Park (HATP)

Health Access Thorncliffe Park (HATP) is an initiative co-led by FHC and TNO (The Neighbourhood Organization) to provide comprehensive primary health care services to residents of Thorncliffe Park. Services are free and open to all residents living in the M4H postal code. Our services can be accessed without a health card and without a medical referral. Language and interpretation services are available as needed.

Individual, family and group mental health counselling, advocacy, case management and support to people of all ages.

TNO Mental Health Support Services is a health and wellness program that offers services to residents living in the Thorncliffe Park and Area. Supportive Counselling, Addictions Counselling, One-on-One Counselling, Walk-in-Counselling and Case Management, and Group Education Sessions.

WoodGreen

WoodGreen offers an integrated approach to physical and mental health services, working alongside primary care and health agency partners. We support clients with complex health needs and provide walk-in and longer-term counselling to address mental health and substance use issues.
